“Doing less” gets dismissed as a lifestyle-brand slogan, but the underlying idea is closer to a scheduling principle than a philosophy: most calendars are full not because every item on them matters, but because nothing was ever removed to make room for the next thing.
The practical version of doing less isn’t doing nothing — it’s deciding, on purpose, what doesn’t get your time, so the things that do get more of it. That’s a much smaller ask than it sounds, and it tends to start with a single recurring commitment someone’s willing to finally drop.
